A lithograph print from the collection of Stiles, Sherman & Smith, well known 19th century map makers, the United States is depicted as it was in the 1850s when this colorful territory map was created. Cities and populations are noted, rivers and mountains illustrated, and borders drawn. The expert detail and attention given to this map are testament to its educational intention, a sophistication that still emanates from the Vintage United States Wood Framed Map that would be a grandiose display in a study or office.
