The genus Calathea, native to the dense tropical understories of South American rainforests, is celebrated worldwide for its highly decorative and dynamic foliage. Known colloquially as prayer plants, these botanical wonders are beloved for their daily nyctinastic cycle where leaves rise and fold in evening devotion.
