Elatostema salvinioides, also known as Salvin’s Elatostema, is a unique and often-sought-after plant for terrariums and vivariums due to its beautiful foliage and preference for high-humidity environments. It’s a lithophyte, meaning it naturally grows on rocks, often in the deep shade of tropical rainforests.

Elatostema Salvinioides

Here is a guide to caring for your Elatostema salvinioides:

Light

• Full to partial shade. This plant thrives in low light conditions, similar to its natural understory habitat.
• Avoid direct sunlight. Direct sun will easily scorch the delicate leaves and should be avoided at all costs.
• If you are growing it indoors, use a location with indirect, diffused light.

Watering and Humidity

• High humidity is essential. Elatostema
