The fan-shaped leaves of this palm species form almost a complete circle, as they may overlap at the petiole. They can reach 60 cm in size and have a beautiful sheen and dark green colour. It is a rare species from the rainforest in northwest Borneo. There it can grow up to 1.5 metres high, making it a true dwarf palm.
